5 things to watch for when the Chicago Bears play host to the Detroit Lions, including Akiem Hicks’ potential return and a promising offensive line combination

There was very little to be encouraged about in last weekend’s blowout loss to the Packers. But the Bears line, after yet another reshuffling, seemed to hold up fairly well. With Sam Mustipher starting at center, Cody Whitehair sliding to left guard, Alex Bars jumping in at right guard and Charles Leno and Germain Ifedi manning the tackle positions, the Bears had good communication and encouraging chemistry up front. They ran the ball as well as they have all season. And the pass protection was solid overall with the line providing clean pockets for Mitch Trubisky for much of the night.
